MODE Racing introduces a series of Double Adjustable Short Shifters for numerous high performance vehicles. MODE Racing has put countless hours of research and development, including true track tested data, into each short shifter.
The MODE Racing Double Adjustable Short Shifter bodies are anodized black and made of 6061 T6 Aluminum, giving it strong rigidity but keeping it lightweight.
The highlight of the MODE Racing Double Adjustable Short Shifter is the ability to adjust both shift knob height and throw by making very few adjustments. The MODE Racing Double Adjustable Short Throw Shifter is user friendly and customizable to each driver’s preference and driving style, giving maximum performance with each shift. This allows each driver the precision that he or she needs to excel on the street for spirited driving or on the track.
Last but not least, each MODE Racing Double Adjustable Short Shifter is compatible with the OEM Shift knob. It can also be used with almost any aftermarket shift knob allowing maximum customization and personal preference.

A while ago, we put our Mitsubishi Evolution X Double Adjustable Short Shifter in the hands of Ryan Gates and his monster Evo X. He recently gave his impressions on the shifter and we were more than pleased with the results.
“This review has been a long time coming, but it was worth the wait. I received the MODE Racing double adjustable short shifter from Billy Brooks, Owner of MODE Racing, at MOD ‘09 this summer. Since then, I’ve been meaning to get this on the car but just recently had it done…wish I had installed it sooner, it’s awesome!

Anyways….onto my experience with it in the car. The first time I drove the car on track with the MODE Racing short shifter was at Road America, which was a perfect testbed. I was out there last month for an open track day just having fun and taking it easy on my favorite track.
It’s pretty sick that you can adjust the height AND the throw length of the MODE Racing short shifter independently! Gives you plenty of options. I have mine set at full height, and shortest throw. I like the shift knob as high up as possible so it’s really nice to have that adjustability. Shifts are crisp and quite a bit shorter than stock, but not to the point where things get clunky or too short to find a gear.
With the OEM shift throws in the Evo X being overly long, it’s nice to have something that shortens the shift and still keeps things smooth. I haven’t had too much time with the MODE Racing Double Adjustable Short shifter yet, but I’m looking forward to the rest of this year with it for sure!

So after speaking with Seibon, they’ve been gracious enough to give us an exclusive deal on the Seibon Edition of the Volk Racing TE37s.
A few facts about these rims and the group buy:
1. We only have (4) sets incoming.
2. Size of the rims, per Seibon, are 18×8.5 +22 (F)/ 18×9.5 +22 (R)
3. Recommended tire size by MODE Racing is 245/40/18 (F)/285/35/18(R) for streetability and to meet most class requirements.
4. A 20% deposit will be required to reserve a set.
5. Per Seibon, these are the only (4) sets in this size/offset combination inbound to the states for the rest of the year.

The MODE Racing team made their way to the Redline Time Attack Round 7 in Spring Mountain Raceway, NV. The MODE Racing Hyundai Genesis Coupe had a few new upgrades including a racing oil cooler and a new front splitter and air dam.
The MODE Racing Hyundai Genesis Coupe handled great in the 18 turn 3.1 mile track as driver Billy Brooks used as much as he could with the stock 2.0 Turbo set up. The tuning set up by HBSpeed and the PowerAxel tuning module assisted the Genesis’ stock turbo and engine to squeeze as much power as possible through the 100+ desert heat. The Motul Fluids aided in keep the engine in full working order in the heat.
Handling was assisted by the superior JRZ Coilover Suspenion and track support from JRZ was given to help the Genesis snake through the course. The light weight Enkei wheels, 1.5 Cusco LSD, and a set of super-sticky Toyo R888 tires allowed the power transfer to the 130+ degrees track surface.
The APR Performance GTC300 rear wing and the custom made MODE Racing front splitter and airdam allowed the Genesis Coupe to be planted to the track surface in the higher speed portions on the track.
The MODE Racing now has more than 6 weeks to prepare for the Redline Time Attack finals in Fontana, CA. MODE Racing is hoping for a large power upgrade to help them propel themselves onto the podium! MODE Racing would like to thank all of the sponsors and supporters for their help.
Last week, we showed you pictures of the MODE Racing 3.8 V6 being dropped off at Stoptech so that the 3.8 V6 Genesis Coupe crowd can have a shot at having some big brakes. Especially when SEMA is around the corner, we had to make sure that the 3.8 V6 has the appropriate look!
In this picture, it’s really hard to see them due to the black on black on black (aka the Vader look) but they’re there! Let’s take a closer look, shall we?
The front brakes consists of their 6 piston caliper and a larger diameter slotted front rotor. This will give a strong initial bite when encountering hard braking.
The rear also received an appropriate upgrade with a smaller, lighter, but just as potent 4 piston caliper and larger diameter rotor!
We noticed an immediate difference between the stock vs. the Stoptech Big Brake Kit. We will be testing these more and more during the fall and winter at various track events.
